Janet Farrell receives Sister Joan O’Sullivan Award
Dr. Janet Farrell, Associate Clinical Professor at the Department of Anesthesia, is the recipient of the 2010 Sister Joan O’Sullivan Award. This award is presented annually to a physician at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton who exemplifies outstanding teaching and clinical abilities while maintaining the Mission, values, commitment and vision of St. Joseph’s Healthcare (SJHH) and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Hamilton. The presentation occurred at the Annual Medical Staff Dinner Meeting in January, 2010. Her name will be added to a plaque to be maintained at SJHH.
The criteria used in the assessment of the nominees for this award are:
- Respect for the dignity of all persons with special obligation to the poor and unwanted
- Availability to staff and patients/clients
- Creates an effective environment for learners
- Strives for excellence
- Makes a difference in peoples’ lives
Dr. Alez Dauphin, Clinical Professor of Anesthesia, had also received this award previously.
